The Pork Rind Heritage Festival began in 1989 during the Village of Harrod, Ohio Centennial celebration. As the first year of the festival was started to celebrate the village it then was turned into an annual celebration with the support of Rudolph Foods as a corporate sponsor. Each year the festival has grown into a bigger and better celebration.
Founded in 1889, the small village of Harrod in Allen County, Ohio became famous because of the railroad. Though the railroad is long gone the small town has survived and is a great place to call home.
